Drama class. Grade 10
I’m directing one of the class plays, which are a big part of our process exam. We are in groups of around ten, and there are a number of popular kids in my group, who are particularly hard to control.
We are practicing in the cafeteria and not really doing work because we have a substitute, but I decide that’s it’s time to run through the play a bit. I manage to gather everyone in the group except for two of the popular boys, who are chatting with some friends at a caf table. I’m shy, and definitely not popular, so I honestly a little afraid of them. So I tell one of the popular girls to go get them. She says probably as loud as possible, “what, are you scared of them?”
I feel my face go beet red and I’m like “noooooo” so she says “go get them yourself”
I 100% do not want to go over to that table of boys alone, so I grab my friend’s arm, march across the caf to the table, and tell them it’s time to practice.
And everyone laughs the entire time.
Let’s just say I didn’t have much authority as a director after that.
(probably not my most embarrassing story, but it’s all I could think of)
