I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t always love Lucien (though I never hated him). My favourite character without a doubt was Rhys, and Lu was mostly forgotten while I was reading. But in the weeks and months after reading the series, I kept coming back to the little ginger fox, specifically his place in acowar.
When I thought about it, I related to him a lot. For example being the new one in the group, feeling unwanted, and having your world basically turned upside down, which all happened to him when he went with Feyre to Velaris. I know exactly how he felt in these moments having recently went through them myself, so this made his character really appealing to me.
I also really loved how he was a complex character, neither good nor bad. He made some misguided decisions throughout the series, and sat back when he should have acted up, but it just makes him feel more real. I think everyone can see themselves in Lucien at some point, and it helps us examine how we can make changes in our lives and not make the same mistakes he did.
Don’t worry, there are also many good things I love about him, but this is getting a little long so let’s just say that I love everything about him xD
So there wasn’t really any specific moment where I decided I loved Lucien, it just sort of happened? If that makes sense? Thank you for asking!
