It had begun with willing herself, forcing herself to put in her feet. Then, each time, going a little further. Until she’d been able to stomach sitting fully submerged in the tub without her heart thundering. It had taken her months to get that far.

my-name-is-fireheart:

Look I know that Rhys’s actions in acofas annoy some but consider this:

– characters aren’t “bad” because they are mean to characters you love (rhys being impolite to nesta).

– characters aren’t bad for being assholes to other characters who you think are terrible but are sad atm (tamlin).

– not everyone is nice to everyone else. Not everyone is the “bigger” person all the time. I bet you all aren’t either. I do not understand how y’all can be angry at Rhys for being a douche to Tamlin, when his doucheyness is called out by Lucien and when Rhys goes out of his way to be nicer to Tamlin next time. Like the textual critique and adjustment of Rhys’s actions is damn clear. It’s literally a situation of Rhys acting out emotionally (something everyone does), Lucien calling him on being a jerk, and him being like “oh I should do something more kind next time” and then he actually IS nicer to Tamlin next time. WHAT DO YOU WANT. because wanting Rhys to just not act out emotionally or be an asshole to Tamlin ever would be ooc. You don’t have to like his character but there is nothing about his actions that do not make sense.

– Tamlin had a role in murdering Rhysand’s sister and mother. Rhys is allowed to dislike him. He has reasons ASIDE from Feyre. He has good reasons to not like Tamlin. Would you be kind to someone who murdered your family??? Would you?? (No)

– Tamlin abused Feyre. Rhys dealt with and saw the affects of that abuse in acomaf. Rhys loves Feyre. This isn’t a difficult thing to work out. He doesn’t have to be kind to someone who abused his current partner. I’m not kind to the person who has abused my friend. I refuse to speak to them. I ice them out. I don’t do more out of respect for her and the fact that she wouldn’t want me to be mean to him. But Feyre clearly is…not upset by how Rhys treats Tamlin and allows Rhys to go speak to him without any qualifications.

– Nesta also verbally abused Feyre. Nesta verbally attacks members of Rhys’s inner circle. His fam. So his…less than kind treatment of his makes sense. In my initial review I wanted him to be kinder but under further consideration his actions seem really in character because of how loyal he is/how fiercely he protects his fam.

Azriel and the female in Rosehall

***HAS SOME ACOFAS SPOILERS***

Okay so, I’ve been seeing this really interesting theory by @propshophannah about the person Azriel goes to visit in Rosehall and it being his mother. I absolutely loved that idea and it seemed highly probable, specially since ACOFAS had so many mentions of mothers.

But then it got me thinking and suddenly out of the blue this theory hit me.

WHAT IF THE PERSON HE’S VISITING AND WHOM HE’S BUYING A GIFT FOR IS NONE OTHER THAN THE GIRL WHO HE RESCUED FROM HYBERN’S CAMP, BRIAR, WHO NOW LIVES WHEREVER ROSEHALL IS!??

I was just talking to @catastrophicallyinlovewithbooks about this because I literally just struck me and just one person agreeing shows me it may not be that insane 😂

Because think about it. SJM wouldn’t just leave her be, she obviously has a role to play. Plus ROSEHALL, as in from ‘Briar Rose’. It’s totally the kind of symbolism that SJM would put in!!! It would also make sense that Az checks up on her post ACOWAR and perhaps is close with her.

It just adds up in my head and I realise I’m not writing this all down very well out of excitement but oh my god, it’s such a big possibility/potential future story arc! Especially with Az.

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

YES

I love the mother theory, but this one also makes sense and it’s totally something Sarah would do

Regarding your Nesta question – I guess I might have tried to do an intervention sooner maybe? I also would have had it with immediate family only first, so just sisters, and not have another person go fetch her for the meeting, especially someone she’s not currently getting along with. I’m sure Cass going to get her and having Rhys there made her feel a little ganged up on. At least I know I would feel like that if it were me, and if I felt like that it would make me want to talk even less.

faeriequeenofthewest:

I love this. Thank you.

Nesta is introverted, she’s private, and so yeah, having Cassian go get her? And then Rhys intimidating her? Yikes. 😦

I agree that they should have done the intervention sooner. I haven’t seen anyone mention this (again, I don’t scroll the tags), but Feyre was 100% enabling Nesta’s behavior by paying her rent. That’s something she shouldn’t have been doing, so in that way I agree that Feyre wasn’t approaching Nesta in the right way.

And Elain may have been enabling implicitly by letting Nesta isolate. They probably hadn’t lived under separate roofs their entire lives until this book. That makes me sad. 😦

I totally agree that the intervention should have been done differently. The whole scene made me so uncomfortable because I knew exactly how Nesta felt. My friends staged an intervention with me last semester and it was utterly humiliating, I felt like I was being attacked and I could only sit there and let them yell at me. I hate that Feyre made Nesta go through that, even though something really did need to be done about her.
