Can I get your opinion on the plot of a story I’m writing? 17 year old Lilith Blackwood has always known something was off about her life. When strange men start coming into her like and telling her she is an ancient queen of Mystiqa and she is the only one ruthless enough to save them all. Lilith must travel to Mystiqa to defeat the threat to her throne before her kingdom is destroyed. However, first she must learn to accept who she is to be able to save her past and her future.

(Sorry I took a while to answer this ah)

I’d certainly read this story! I’m super curious about the world and culture and political system, because there’s so much freedom in a story like this. Lost Queen stories are the best and I never get tired of them.

Good luck with your writing, friend!! Feel free to message me or send me another ask about it whenever!

Where do you come up with inspiration for names for a story? I’ve looked and looked for names but… none of them have felt right for the story if you know what I mean.

Usually I’ll have some particular letter or sound in mind that I think fits the character best. For the main of my original, I knew I wanted an “ah” sound, so I used one of those baby name sites and just filtered all the names ending in “ah”. For other characters though, like in my acotar fic, I had nothing in mind to base it off of. Honestly, I just scrolled through all the names (I think I had chosen ones of latin origin to fit with Sarah’s Illyrian names), and wrote down the ones I liked. Then I tested each name in a sentence until one of them stuck. Knowing what origin you want for the name is probably the most helpful, because it narrows it down to the names that will fit best with whatever world you’re putting them in.

It was also really helpful for me to have friends like @runesandfaes, @havilliardandgalathynius, and @acourtofredqueens to bounce ideas off of! I would send them a list and then they’d tell me their favourites, or I’d describe the character and they’d give me ideas! If you don’t have anyone to help you decide, I’m always here to help!
