I have been in a rut of not finishing things lately so I decided to go back and finish the first thing that I didn’t finish from last year, which was this lovely Yrene portrait! I was really struggling with this one (especially the lighting) when I left her last fall but I’m very happy with how much fresh eyes have done for her 🙂

Thoughts on the ACOTAR cameo? Idk I have mixed feelings I wanna know yours

I’m pretty much indifferent. I don’t entirely like it, but I also don’t care enough to get upset. You know?

I’m the kind of person who would prefer to keep separate stories separate. If SJM had, say, confirmed that ACOTAR and TOG were in the same world, I would have been pretty upset. It comes across as unnecessary fanservice in my opinion, and takes away from the two as separate stories. But this cameo was just vague enough that it’s more a nod to other work than an actual confirmation of anything, and it also only shows them in the same multiverse rather than the same world.

So am I mad at it? Not really. Do I think I would have enjoyed the story/particular scene just as much without it? Absolutely. But c’est la vie ¯_(ツ)_/¯

i have this headcanon that vaughan is related to crescent city. i have no proof but i like to connect things

Crescent City is set in a different (more modern) world, but since she already set up world-walking with the acotar cameo it’s completely plausible that he could have some sort of connection to it!

I’m interested to see if she’ll connect Crescent City in a similar way to how she connected the other series.
