But he never imagined death would look like this.
Never imagined he would face it alone. Without a crew. Without a friend. Without a family. Without even an enemy, save the faceless masses that filled the waiting ships.

Alucard is a very isolated character. Structurally, he’s introduced much later and in a very different setting to the rest of the main characters. His story is caught up in this web of secrecy which means he doesn’t share it and it doesn’t really fully mesh with the rest of them until the very last chapter, until then its all fragmented and unlike Holland, who also doesn’t share a lot of, he doesn’t want to be in that situation. He wanted to sort things out with Rhy before he left, he didn’t want to leave in the first place. And now he is cut out of the climax, he spends it here, alone, not knowing what is happening, until its already happened. (via dendritic-trees)

BOOKS WE LOVED IN MIDDLE SCHOOL : The Hunger Games

What must it be like, I wonder, to live in a world where food appears at the press of a button? How would I spend the hours I now commit to combing the woods for sustenance if it were so easy to come by? What do they do all day, these people in the Capitol, besides decorating their bodies and waiting around for a new shipment of tributes to rill in and die for their entertainment? (insp.)
