one thing I can’t stand about high school movies is the way they present mean girls. There’s always a clear enemy, always one group of girls who publicly make fun of you or push you into a locker or make you drop your books. But the way I’ve experienced high school, we don’t have the luxury of knowing exactly who to avoid. No one is just mean to your face. There’s never anyone who just publicly makes fun of everyone ‘below’ them. No one is just mean all the time. Real high school life has people who secretly dislike you, people who betray your trust, people who ditch you. And it could be anyone. You don’t ever know your enemy.
