I had forgotten how messy Dorian is. Books in piles all over his room and the couch is described as shabby.
For some reason I’d started picturing him as having clean pristine and carefully arranged furniture. Everything in order.
But really his aesthetic is shabby-chic personified. Finding stray dogs to look after and saving books deemed no longer in good enough condition to be in library circulation. I can imagine him Leaving chip packets on his desk and energy drinks in the wastebasket. Staying up until the wee hours of the morning studying or trying to figure out that last clue in a puzzle. Like a college student in their final year – settled into expectations for study, broke and trying their best in their new flat.
My fandom Dorian didn’t quite match up with book Dorian. Another reason I love re-reading books. I’m rediscovering these characters as they truely are.
Yes!!!! Also it’s canon he “eats like a fine lady” so I’m just here picturing him eating Hot Cheetos with chopsticks but leaving the crumpled bag on his desk
