Feysand Pride and Prejudice AU

aelin-and-feyre:

It works so well just listen:

  • Nesta = Jane, Feyre = Elizabeth, Elain = Lydia
  • Cassian = Mr Bingley, Rhys = Darcy, Azriel = FItzwilliam, Mor = Georgiana, Amren = Caroline
  • Tamlin = Wickham, Amarantha = Catherine de Bourgh
  • Cassian, Amren, and Rhysand are new to the area and the Archeron sisters meet them at a ball where Nesta immediately makes an impression on Cassian
  • Everyone fawns over Rhys because of his power and money but he is standoffish and borderline rude, full of snide smirks and cutting remarks that Feyre overhears
  • Nesta and Cassian continue to get together, which inevitably throws Rhys and Feyre together as both animosity and sexual tension grows
  • Tamlin, an officer in Prythian’s army comes to stay in the country as well, catching Feyre’s eye with his charm
  • When Tamlin and Rhys’ paths cross, Feyre notices the history between them and asks Tamlin
  • He tells her how Rhys was his childhood friend but cut him out of his life right after his father died for no reason Tamlin could understand, leaving him with practically no support system at the time
  • this strengthens Feyre’s dislike for Rhysand
  • Amren doesn’t think either of the women are worthy of her friends and convinces Rhys of the same, persuading both men to go back to the Night Court
  • Meanwhile, Tomas Mandray visits the Archeron home and separately asks for both Nesta and Feyre’s hand. After being forcefully denied by both, he leaves with a bride anyway in Clare Beddor, a family friend of the Archerons
  • When Feyre goes to visit Clare later, she becomes a guest at Lady Amarantha’s mansion where, coincidentally, Rhysand and his friend Azriel are also staying
  • Confused, they somehow fall into the same irritated but attracted attitudes and flirting style
  • Azriel accidentally confesses that Rhys separated Cassian and Nesta purposefully and Feyre is furious
  • Suddenly, Rhysand tries to propose but Amarantha interrupts, loudly stating how Feyre’s circumstances are so dismal that she can’t be worth Rhys’ time
  • Rhysand doesn’t say anything to the contrary and Feyre expresses her outspoken revulsion to the idea of marrying him anyway, especially after all he’s done to Tamlin. She leaves, even more confused and slightly heartbroken
  • Azriel comes to comfort her and explains the true story between Tamlin and Rhys; how Tamlin’s father was found guilty of Rhys’ parents’ murder but was only discovered after his death when paperwork with an assassin was found in the Lord’s household. Tamlin was an accessory of the murder but was not convicted
  • Her world turned upside down, Feyre battles with her feelings for Rhys
  • She ends up going on a tour of Prythian with her father and they stumble upon Rhys’ Night Court residence where she meets his cousin, Mor
  • Rhys shows up out of the blue, the first time they’ve seen each other since the disastrous proposal, but so many things have changed
  • Before they can catch up, Feyre receives a letter that Tamlin has coerced Elain to leave for the Spring Court with him
  • Fearing the worst and blaming herself, Feyre flees back home
  • Rhys, feeling the exact same, goes to find Tamlin and fix it
  • When he finds them, he realizes that while Tamlin is trying to marry Elain, it’s Tamlin’s best friend Lucien who truly loves this Archeron sister
  • A week later, Elain returns home with a ring on her finger and a new last name: Vanserra
  • Bewildered but overjoyed, the sisters welcome Lucien as best they can and thank the Cauldron that Tamlin is out of their lives
  • But when Elain leaves again, Nesta and Feyre are still left without the males they love
  • Except, then Cassian and Rhys are waiting outside their door and the former proposes to Nesta and they are so happy
  • Rhys, still thinking that Feyre hates him, leaves without getting down on one knee
  • But Amarantha decides to also pay a visit to the Archeron household
  • She tries to make Feyre promise, once and for all, to never marry Rhysand. She explains that Rhys and she have always been meant for each other and Feyre is not going to get in her way.
  • Feyre refuses to promise and banishes Amarantha from the grounds in typical badass fashion
  • Rhys, hearing of this altercation, has rekindled hope and ventures to express his undying love for Feyre
  • ‘If your feels are still what they were last April, tell me at once. My affections and wishes have not changed. But one word from you will silence me forever.’
  • Feyre doesn’t say a word
  • ‘If, however, your feelings have changed, I would have to tell you that you have bewitched me body and soul and—I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.’
  • She says yes
  • They kiss
  • Its a great time for all
